Association Management Resources is one of only 37 accredited AMC’s
in the world and has over seventy years of cumulative experience
in association & event management, and client relations to serve
your organization. Our range of experience includes board support,
media relations, promotional pieces, special events, annual conferences,
exposition management, financial management, continuing professional
education, building & maintaining association membership, web
communications, grant writing and administration and fundraising.
Susan Cabrera, Managing
Director – Susan spent her
formative years living in South East Asia and traveling the world.
She speaks Malay and Spanish almost fluently, although she uses her
Spanish much more often. Susan began her career in the association
industry as an intern at the Travel Industry Association while attending
American University in Washington, D.C. After graduating in
1986, she headed west to California where she worked for Doubletree
Hotels and gained the “hotel perspective” before going
back to her first love, associations. She worked for the Orange
County Bar Association managing twenty small specialty sections. Later,
she also managed a company that provided customized continuing education
for professionals in small or sole practitioner firms. After
moving to Florida in 1992, Susan managed three medical societies. Prior
to starting Association Management Resources, seven years ago, she
also managed two specialty sections and one division at The Florida
Bar. Susan is active in the association industry and maintains close
relationships with industry partners in Canada, Europe and Asia.
Throughout her career, Susan has stressed the concept of individual
service and personal commitment to each member and client. In addition, Susan volunteers extensively in the Leon County community and resides on the Boards of several regional charities, including Leon County Humane Society, Relay for Life, Alzheimer's Project, among others.
Roberta Courtney , Executive Assistant -
Roberta serves as the Executive Assistant to the company's president and will be working directly with our boards and committees. Roberta comes to AMR with over 20 years administrative experience in public and private sectors spanning medical, legal, educational and government organizations. Her many years experience will be an invaluable asset to AMR and to our clients.
Katie Fitzgerald, Director of Membership/Continuing Education -
As associate director, Katie's duties include management of membership and certification for clients, strategic communication with client boards, course management for continuing education seminars, and general support for the clients with whom she works directly., Katie's extensive customer service background lends itself to enhancing her skill set while working in her main role as direct support to the president of AMR in the growth and management of new clients. Katie has been with AMR for five years. Prior to her career at AMR, Katie served as a program administrator at The Florida Bar, and as office manager for a large staffing company where she managed a sizable staff and had daily interaction with clients and candidates.
Kari
Glisson, CAE, Account Executive - Prior to graduation from Florida State University in 2000, Kari began working with several local and regional non-profit organizations while interning at a local communications firm. She has been with AMR since 2003 when she began her career in association management as membership coordinator. In early 2005, Kari moved into an Account Manager position for several professional academies and societies. She assists our association clients with governance, board and committee development, strategic planning and implementation, new initiative development, and event coordination, as well as marketing & communications. Internally at AMR, Kari works with our team to review, improve and implement policies and best practices, and research new media and innovations in electronic communications. She earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential in 2008. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.
Al Rothstein, Media
Relations - Al is the president of Al Rothstein Media
Services, Inc., which offers strategic media relations campaigns
and media interview skills training. He is a member of the American
Society of Association Executives Communications Counsel. For
the past ten years, his firm has served national associations. Among
them are the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists,
American Association of Blood Banks, American Association of
Laboratory Animal Science, American College of Dentists, Florida
Dental Association, and the Mountain Plains Health Consortium.
Al has 25 years of experience as an investigative and legal reporter
in television, radio, newspaper, and as a public relations spokesperson.
Julie
Tennyson, Information Technology - Julie has
15 years of experience with computers and networks in the LAN/WAN
environment. In addition, she created training materials
and has instructed over one-hundred classes. Julie is responsible
for computer setup of training facilities, migrated systems using
IBM's LAN Server to Windows server environment, and is the network
administrator for 100 users throughout the state of Florida. Certification:
A+, MCSE Windows 2000.

Diane Doll, PAC Administrator -
Before coming to AMR, Diane managed a law firm that specialized in
lobbying. Her experience in political action committees and committees
of continuous existence is exceptional. She has a tremendous number
of contacts in various departments of state government and has cordial
relationships with the IRS. Her attention to detail and knowledge
of reporting requirements makes her an invaluable member of the AMR
team.
Elizabeth Babski, Babski Creative Studios - Elizabeth is the co-owner and creative director for Babski Creative Studios, a full-service publishing and graphic design studio serving the needs of Associations and Small Businesses. She specializes in bringing unique creative solutions to newsletters, magazines, meetings brochures and marketing materials for clients like AMR.
Jon Johnson, Johnson & Blanton – Legislative
Advocacy - Jon is president of Johnson and Blanton, a Tallahassee-based
lobbying and government relations consulting firm. He has been
involved in the political arena for over ten years. In 1989, Governor
Bob Martinez appointed Jon as executive assistant secretary at the
Department of Professional Regulation. Following his career
in public service, Jon became Director of Government Relations for
the Florida Medical Association. He coordinated the associations’ state
agency relations and was the lead lobbyist on issues such as Workers
Compensation, managed care and professional regulation.
Jackie Watson, CPA – Accounting - Jackie Watson has been in public practice for over 11 years. Prior to that, Jackie spent more than 20 years as the chief financial officer of a public company listed on the American Stock Exchange. Jackie focuses on personal, corporate, and non-profit tax planning and preparation, as well as business consulting. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's and a master's degree in accounting. Jackie is a member of both the AICPA and FICPA.
